How to make Frankston a better place

Frankston is quite a large suburb, with many residents. It generally does not have a very good reputation, with the perception that it is full of drugs and crime. By making a few changes, Frankston can become better.

A lot can be done to improve the housing in Frankston. There are many run down houses in the CBD and near the beach, giving people the impression that all the houses in the suburb are derelict and old. There could be townhouses built in these areas, to make the overall appearance of Frankston much more appealing. The beach is very scenic, but with old, ugly houses it looks very run down and the beauty of the bay can sometimes be forgotten. There could also be some small apartment blocks in the city's centre to make it look more modern.

Although there are already a lot of shops in Frankston, there needs to be more of a variety to cater for all different types of people. There also should be many more restaurants and cafes, such as Asian and European. This would attract more people. There is a shortage of good, quality cafes, so having these near the beach would be very convenient and would prove to be popular spots.

With an increase in population there needs to be a more effective transport system. Buses do not run often enough, so this definitely needs to change. There could also be a bike system similar to that in the city, where you can hire a bike to ride around, instead of using your own with the fear of it being stolen. The alternative for this problem is that there is a proper supervised bike shed installed.

There definitely needs to be more entertainment facilities. There could be more outdoor recreation facilities such as parasailing and rock-climbing. There also needs to be a major concert venue and safe clubs. There could also be a big arcade built, similar to the very popular Galactic Circus at Crown in Melbourne. This would attract people from many places, as well as being very useful for residents

Frankston needs to improve is community facilities. There could be more nature reserves and parks, and also a good outdoor swimming pool. A community house would be very useful in Frankston, as there is a severe drug problem.

Frankston is very run down, and a lot can be done to improve the overall design and appearance. There could be a lot more scenery and gardens everywhere to make it more appealing to the eye.
If all of these things were put in place, believe Frankston would improve its image, make its reputation better and therefore attract more people.
