Frankston Waterfront
One of Frankston City's greatest assets, the waterfront, has seen substantial improvements take shape. The Frankston Pier foreshore restaurant is among one of the major projects now completed.
Frankston City is working closely with representatives of a number of special foreshore interest groups in developing the concept and design plans for the Frankston Waterfront. These groups include the Council's Foreshore Advisory Committee, Frankston Beach Association, Kananook Creek Association, Frankston Coast Guard, Frankston Yacht Club, Parks Victoria, Frankston Life Saving Club and the Department of Sustainability and Environment.
In collaboration with the Frankston Beach Association, more than 1,000 indigenous coastal plant species have been planted as part of a revegetation program along the Frankston Foreshore from the pier south along the coastline to the car park opposite the Caltex Service Station (midway point on the timber boardwalk).
The Frankston Waterfront is recognised as Frankstons premier icon in Frankston City Councils recently adopted Tourism Strategy. The strategy highlights the many opportunities that can be developed along the foreshore to enhance waterfront experiences.

Oasis Mosiac Stream Project
Beautiful mosaic installation embedded into the pathway "stream" running between Sofia on the Pier Family Restaurant and the feature bridge on Kananook Creek. Artist Anna Minardo has designed the piece to reflect the unique terrain and sea life of our region on Port Phillip Bay. Visitors to the waterfront can now walk over the mosaic stream.
Restaurants at the Frankston Waterfront
Visitors to the Frankston Waterfront can now dine beachside at Waves on the Beach. The view from the restaurant's balcony not only gives patrons a 180-degree view of Port Phillip Bay. Dining opportunities have expanded further with the opening of Sofia on the Pier Family Restaurant on Pier Rd. Sofias includes a 250-seat restaurant/cafe and observation deck, again with spectacular views across Port Phillip. The facilities also includes public toilets with change facilities and car parking.
