Councillor Colin Hampton was first elected to Frankston Council in August 1987 and represented Centre Ward until 1992. He was re-elected to North Ward from 1993 to 1994. In November 2008, Cr Hampton was re-elected for another four year term and Mayor for 2009.

He and his wife Nancye have two adult daughters and a son. Colin has lived in the Frankston region since 1969 and has run a small business there for over 20 years.
