Freedom of Information

Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation ensures public accountability at all levels of government in Australia.

The Act provides members of the public with a general right of access to documents held by Council. Some documents may be exempt from access and these are stipulated in the Act.

How do I make a request?

An application under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 can be made by forwarding the following:

The request needs to be in writing providing sufficient information to enable the documents to be identified, and where possible, include the approximate date range of the documents requested.An application fee of $24.40 (cheques made payable to Frankston City Council).

In accordance with legislation, Frankston City Council will respond to your request within 45 days. Search and access charges allowable under the Act may apply to your request.
