Signage Permits in Industrial Estates

Businesses are allowed up to 8 square metres of business signage on their property provided that it is not illuminated in any way or contains moving parts. Note that this means a business will require a permit if they wish to have two signs which are less than 8 square metres alone but exceed this restriction when combined.

Should a business desire signage on the site greater than 8 square metres, or to illuminate signage, a planning permit will be required from council.

Should the property (and signage) abut East Link, the views of the road authority will form part of the assessment of the planning permit.
