Conservation and Wildlife
Frankston City is the home to significant and diverse natural features and wildlife. We have a well developed coastal dune system that extends between Frankston and Seaford, a wetland of international significance and three creeks that meander throughout the city. Our diverse vegetation includes coastal banksia woodlands, aquatic herbland, heathy woodlands, grassy woodlands and red-gum plains - just to name a few. All these features support a vast array of wildlife.
Frankston City Council recognises the high value of its natural environment and the contribution indigenous plants and animals make to urban amenity, lifestyle, sense of place, and protection of our soil and water.
By working together for an environmentally sustainable future we can protect and conserve our environment, including our unique biodiversity, making sure that it is here to stay for all generations.
