Local Laws

The Local Government Act 1989 gives councils in Victoria the power to create local laws within their own municipalities. Local Laws are designed to protect and enhance the health and safety of residents and visitors and the amenity of the municipality.

Community Safety

Council provides a public education, coordination and customer service role to contribute towards improving safety in Frankston. If you have a safety related concern in Frankston please contact Council to discuss available options.

Draft Compliance and Enforcement Policy

Council has developed a draft Compliance and Enforcement Policy. The draft policy has been developed with legal advice and consideration of Councillors views as representatives of the community. This draft policy will be available to the public for a period of 4 weeks to enable the community to make submissions for consideration, and we welcome your feedback. Submissions close 20th April 2012.

Draft Community Safety Strategy

Council has developed a Draft Community Safety Strategy after extensive research, in consultation with stakeholders and with feedback from community members who attended the recent Community Safety Forum.

Council would like to put this draft strategy out to public comment and we welcome your feedback.
