Shouting Out for Youth Festival

The Youth Shout Out festival will be the highlight of National Youth Week celebrations in Frankston City. Running from noon to 4:00pm on Sunday, 13 April in Wells Street Plaza, the festival will feature performances by Akari, Alanna Deutrom,   Kryptic, BMA and many more.

Winding Back the Clock for Earth Hour

The Frankston Arts Centre has wound back the clock and wound back the torches as part of Earth Hour last Saturday night (29 March). The Centre's ushers used wind up torches to guide patrons to their seats during the performance of The Wedding Singer.

The efforts of Frankston City's Fresh Entertainment team -  Jess Demecurio, Daniel Muller, Stevie-Jay Dunne, Shane Bahn, Shannon Keeley, and Samantha Whiteley - in organising five outstanding music events for young people during 2007 were recently recognised by the State Government.

A community forum is being held, as part of the ongoing Frankston 2025 Community Vision process,  to develop a State of the City report. The report  will examine the municipality's current standing in the nine themes from Frankston 2025 so that progress can be measured in each of these areas.
Sometimes Nature Needs a Helping Hand

In autumn last year, controlled ecological burns were carried out at Baxter Park, Lloyd Park and Wallace Reserve. At Baxter Park, more than 1.5 hectares were burnt to help regenerate the area's eucalypt trees, after a number of mature eucalypts had been damaged or died due to a form of tree canopy dieback.
Final Cheque for New Waterfront Boardwalk

The new Frankston Waterfront boardwalk, which connects the Frankston Life Saving Club to the Frankston Yacht Club and beyond, is almost completed and will be open to the public  by May.
Carrum Downs Festival

Sunday, 30 March 2008  will see the second Carrum Downs Community Festival held at the Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve. See Australias most venomous snakes up close, meet the Army, see the dog obedience trials, enjoy the rides, and entertainment on stage The festival runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm and entry is $2.

Easter Entertainment at the Waterfront

Frankston's Good Friday Concert will return for a second year on 21 March. Hosted by the Frankston Ministers Network and City Life Inc, the concert follows on from the traditional Good Friday March and more than 2000 people are expected to attend.
Sandsational Treasure Hunt

As part of the Sandsational Treasure Hunt, three businesses in Shannon Street Mall and Wells Street will be home to intricate sand sculptures from Thursday, 20 March through to Sunday, 6 April. The sculptures have been prepared by professionals from the Sand Sculpting Australia exhibition at the Frankston Waterfront, which is also running until 6 April.
