Due Dates for Rates Payments

Rates Notices

Annual Rate Notices are issued in July/August each year. Reminder notices for Instalments and the Payment in Full are issued approximately 4 weeks prior to the due date. Please note your Annual Rate Notice is also your 1st Instalment Reminder Notice.

Due dates

Due dates are Government legislated and remain the same for each financial year.

Payment by Instalments

To be eligible, the first instalment must be paid by the 30 September, otherwise payment in full will be expected on or by 15 February. 

All arrears are due and payable immediately and may be subject to legal action for recovery.

1st Instalment:30th September
2nd Instalment:30th November
3rd Instalment:28th February
4th Instalment:31st May

Payment in Full 

Payment in Full:15th February

Advance Payments

 Advance Payments in Part or in Full can be made at any time.

Financial Hardship

In the event you are unable to pay your rates and charges within the required timeframe/s, please contact Council immediately, otherwise interest and/or legal fees may apply. Applications for Financial Hardship assistance will not be considered unless received in writing, along with supporting evidence of hardship.

Arrears and Interest

(Local Government Act 1989 Section 172; Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983 Section 2)

All arrears are due and payable immediately and may be subject to legal action for recovery. All costs will be borne by the property owners.

  • Interest will be charged on all payments not received by the due dates.
  • Interest on Instalment Payments will be backdated to the due date of the instalment.
  • Interest on Payment in Full will be backdated to 1st July of the current financial year.
  • Interest will continue to accrue until paid in full.
