Waste Wise Events

Rubbish & Recycling - Waste Wise Events - Waterfront festival
Frankston City Council is committed to running three Waste Wise Events each year - the Waterfront festival, `Pets Day Out' and the Christmas Festival. These events are made Waste wise through:

  • Requiring stall holders to commit to reduced packaging and to use more recycled or recyclable materials. For example, serving food on serviettes rather than polystyrene trays and serving coffee in recycled paper cups.
  • Providing a cardboard collection
  • Providing garbage and recycling bins with colourful, easy to identify bin caps
  • Providing educational material about waste, and what can and can't be recycled

Frankston City Council encourages all event organisers - no matter how big or small the event - to reduce waste, encourage recycling and promote more resource efficient behaviour at events and therefore in our community.

Waste Wise Events Guide

The Waste Wise Events guide was developed by the NSW Government for the event organiser, stallholder, Council representative or venue owner. It provides easy to use resources to plan and implement an effective waste management and recycling program at your next event.
