Aged Services
Council provides a range of services for the aged. The aim of Aged Services programs is to ensure people have adequate support to remain independent for as long as possible. These services are mainly targeted to provide assistance to the frail aged members of the community.
Home and Community Care (HACC) Program
To be eligible for services within the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program, a person must be frail aged or have a disability. The disability must be moderate to severe and be assessed as a functional disability. Therefore it must interfere with the task of daily living, such as dressing, showering, preparing meals, shopping, and utilising public transport. Priority will be given to those clients who are at risk of residential care.
The HACC program is subsidised by the Federal, State and local governments. Fees are charged depending on the applicants income level.
