Kids - "Go For Your Life"

Kids - 'Go for your life' is a Victorian Government funded initiative designed to help children develop healthy habits for life and learning.

In helping reduce the risk and prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity, Kids - 'Go for your life' supports early childhood services, primary schools and families in the promotion of healthy eating and physical activity/active play for children.

Similar to The Cancer Council Victoria's SunSmart program the Kids - 'Go for your life' Award Program supports and recognises child care centres, kindergartens and primary schools that meet the following critical behaviours and program messages:

The Easy Peasy Playbook

Physical activity is important in a child's life. Children require at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity and no more than two hours of screen time each day. Screen time includes TV, computer and electronic games. This Playbook has been developed with the assistance of Ballam Park Primary School and Frankston Family Day Care. There are many ways to be entertained and active.

Included are a range of activities for different weather conditions, weekends, holidays and celebrations for children, families and even teachers to participate in.
