Community Engagement

Frankston City Council is developing Community Engagement Policy in order to provide the community with a clear understanding of the avenues available for communication between themselves and Council.

The Community Engagement Policy will facilitate clearer and accessible opportunities for greater participation by the community (all stakeholders and residents) in Council decision-making processesl.

What is Community Engagement?

Community Engagement is a planned process with the specific purpose of working with identified groups of people, whether they are connected by geographic location, special interest, affiliation or identify issues affecting their wellbeing.

Community refers to all persons who have a common interest or value and express an interest in matters impacting on Frankston City. Council will make a concerted effort to confer with all stakeholders with an interest or concern, recognising that different methods may have to be employed to reach different groups or individuals. Also, Council will seek to facilitate different points of view and shared perceptions by formal and informal means.
