A program conducted by SHARPS (Southern Hepatitis/HIV/AIDS Resource and Prevention Service) that provides equipment, counselling and referral. SHARPS operates from 20 Young Street, Frankston, and can be contacted on 9781 1622.
SHARPS will also collect used or discarded syringes found in public areas.
Freeway Outreach Service is a mobile service and be contacted after 6:30pm seven days a week on free call 1800 642 287.
A program is conducted through Frankston City Council's Youth Resource Centre, corner of Ross Smith Avenue and Olsen Street, Frankston. For information about the service phone 9768 1366.
Diabetes Service
Diabetics can obtain sharps disposal/storage containers from the Civic Centre, Davey Street Frankston, Langwarrin Customer Service Centre, Gateway Shopping Centre, Cranbourne Road, Langwarrin or Seaford Customer Service Centre, 120 Nepean Highway, Seaford.
This service is free of charge.
All needles/syringes to be placed into these containers and sealed before being returned.
Council is unable to accept needles/syringes in containers which are not SHARP safe, such as fruit juice bottles.
