Animal Noise

Animal noise, especially barking dogs, can result in tension between neighbours. Dog owners need to ensure that their animal does not cause a nuisance to other residents but sometimes they may not be aware that that there is a problem. Talking with your neighbour is usually the best way to solve a noise nuisance issue. With this in mind council have introduced a nuisance barking kit

The aim of the kit is to provide residents information and advice so that they can resolve the issue without Council intervention. The kit contains information sheets on how to approach a dog owner, information for residents, information for dog owners, why dogs bark, local pet services and other brochures. It also contains a complaint form and three day diary which can be submitted to Council if the nuisance issue is not resolved.

To obtain a nuisance barking kit please contact the Animal Management Team on 9784 1917.
