Outdoor Eating Facilities on Roads
Outdoor eating facilities (including tables, chairs, umbrellas, and other street furniture) may not be placed on a footpath or road without a permit. A permit may be granted by Council provided that certain terms and conditions are met.

A-Frame Sign (Sandwich Board)
A-Frame signs may not be erected or placed on any part of a road without a permit. Permits for A-Frame signs may be granted subject to certain conditions being met.

Display of Goods for Sale
Goods may not be displayed for sale on any footpath or roadway without a permit. A permit to display goods on a road may be granted by Council provided certain terms and conditions are met.
Where permit conditions are not met any goods and or equipment associated with the trading activity may be impounded by an authorised officer.

Bulk Rubbish Containers (skip bins) on Roads
Bulk rubbish containers may not be placed on a road/footpath/naturestrip without a permit. A permit to place a bulk rubbish container may be granted by Council provided that certain terms and conditions are met.

Occupation of The Road For Works
No person may place any materials or undertake any works on a road under Council control without first obtaining a permit. A permit to occupy a road for works may be granted by Council provided that certain terms and conditions are met.
Council may require that a bond be paid prior to the commencement of work on private land.
Where the permit conditions are not followed any goods and or equipment associated with the works on that site may be impounded by an authorised officer .

Hoarding Permit
A permit to erect hoarding around a site is issued by the Local Laws Unit, subject to certain conditions.
A Council Officer may need to carry out a building inspection prior to permit issue.

Trading From a Road or To a Person on a Road
A permit is required for trading from a road or public place within the municipality. A permit to trade from a road or to a person on a road may be granted by Council provided certain terms and conditions are met.
Where permit conditions are not met any goods and or equipment associated with the trading activity may be impounded by an authorised officer.

Collections on Roads
Organisations wanting to collect funds for charity may apply to Council for a permit, subject to certain terms and conditions. Designated sites have been arranged for tin-shakes at intersections.
Consent may also be required from both the Chief Commissioner of Police and the Chief Executive of the Roads Corporation before a Council permit can be granted.
An application can be made in writing by the organisation, outlining activity to be held, location, date and time.
