To remove destroy or lop any vegetation within the municipality, you should first contact either Council's Planning Department or Council's Environment Department on 9784 1888.
Under the Frankston Planning Scheme some areas within Frankston City are protected by Overlay Controls that protect native vegetation, whilst some land is protected by Statewide Planning Controls protecting native vegetation. These controls protect the environmental values of the area, and conserve and enhance the character of significant landscapes.
If the area in which you require to remove, destroy or lop any vegetation is affected by controls protecting native vegetation, you will be required to submit a planning application through Council's Town Planning Department.
Your application should include:
- A completed Frankston Application Form
- The appropriate fee (Schedule of Fees)
- A copy of Title to the land
- A completed Restrictive Covenant declaration form
- A detailed site plan showing all existing vegetation to be retained and/or removed (including size and species),a detailed site plan showing the location of any existing buildings and any proposed buildings, and a written submission stating the reasons why the vegetation is to be removed, destroyed or lopped (an arborist report may also need to be attached)
- Any requirements under the overlay
