Green Waste Bin

Green waste includes:

All grass, leaves, flowers, shrubs, prunings, cuttings, branches, weeds and ivy.

Green Waste Does Not include:

Blackberries and bamboo; these materials must be disposed of at the Waste Transfer Station.

Do not put vegetable and fruit clippings into the Green Waste Bin, these items make great compost.

After your green waste is collected it is taken to a mulching station and chipped. It is then composted for 6-8 weeks, which kills any pathogens and weed seeds. After processing, the mulch is available for purchase from various distributors.

Place material loosely in your bin. Please do not include plastic bags, plant pots, rubble, dirt, large logs or stumps, or fruit and vegetable scraps.
