Bayside Kundalini Yoga
At Bayside Kundalini Yoga, we provide regular classes and events for anyone who wants to practise this form of yoga. We cater to individuals, schools, and the corporate sector.
Kundalini Yoga is suitable for everyone, regardless of whether you're new to yoga or have years of experience. It incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into one cohesive and integrated system. While it does employ some of the more familiar yoga movements, Kundalini Yoga is a unique system that combines postures, chanting, music, meditation, mudras (hand positions) and breathing techniques.
In the weekly classes, we teach a variety of different kriyas (integrated sessions). Some are designed to assist with flexibility, others work on a particular part of the body, some are for a particular chakra, organ or gland, and others are intended to help more with the mind.
All of the kriyas will give you a satisfying physical work out, regardless of their specific purpose. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own level — it’s all about you having a great experience that meets your own needs.
Paul, who runs most of the classes, is a qualified teacher, with certification from the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI). He is a member of the Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association Australia and New Zealand (KYTANZ), and the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA). As well as holding the classes in our region, he collaborates with other teachers to run yoga events in Melbourne and throughout Australia.
With a special interest in using the gong in Kundalini Yoga, Paul has undertaken a number of gong training courses, including advanced training with the internationally recognised Gong Master, Mehtab Benton. He has successfully completed the Master Gong Practitioner Certification Course.
