Ebdale Community Hub

Ebdale Hub is owned, managed and operated by Frankston City Council and is a child and family friendly venue that is a base for a number of community organisations and services providers.

Programs at Ebdale Hub

Please note that Ebdale Hub does not run our own programs. We are a space for community organisations and service providers to hire rooms and utilise these at a cost.

Building Access

Ebdale Hub operating hours are 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.The automatic front entrance door are open during the above time as well as Saturdays 10.00am – 4:00pm (when the Frankston Toy Library is open). The doors are automatically locked at all other times. A Frankston City Council staff member may not be available onsite at all times.

Hirers requiring access outside business hours will be allocated a swipe card. Swipe cards are registered to the named hirer, or nominated representative, and MUST NOT be swapped or given to an unauthorised person.

Collection of the swipe card and induction of its use will be required to be undertaken during business hours. To collect a swipe card you will need to show photo identification and sign to collect it.

In the event that a swipe card is lost or stolen, the hirer may be charged for a replacement card. Please notify Ebdale Hub immediately via email.

Requests for additional swipe cards can be made in writing to Ebdale Hub: ebdale@frankston.vic.gov.au. Please include the following information in your request:

  • The individual’s full name
  • Their contact details, including their hours of work and
  • The role of the person for whom the swipe card is required for.

If approved, please allow at least seven (7) business days for the set-up of a new swipe card.

When a hirer or nominated swipe card holder finishes at Ebdale Hub, their swipe card should be returned to staff in person. New swipe cards will be allocated to any replacement staff or facilitators once the request has been processed.

Community Kinders Plus

Community Kinder Plus (CKP) is a Not for Profit Early Years Management organisation that provides the delivery of Kindergarten programs to 20 kindergartens across Frankston City Council and Mornington Peninsula Shire.

Frankston Toy Library

The Frankston Toy Library provide families, community groups and organisations that work with children, an array of quality toys, games, activities and equipment for an annual fee. The Frankston Toy Library is one of the largest services of its kind in Australia and is primarily operated and managed by volunteers.

Donations

Frankston Toy Library does accept donations however staff will inspect the potential donations during their business hours, before accepting.

Donations must be in good working order and must be full sets.

Please note: The Frankston Toy Library does not accept soft plush toys.

Donations cannot be left at the entrance of the Frankston Toy Library or Ebdale Hub.

Frankston City Council – Enhanced MCH

Frankston City Council offers an Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Service which assists children and families with additional needs. This is a free in home and confidential service to assist each family with their individual circumstances to ensure that each child has the best possible outcome. Eligibility requirement apply.

Fresh Events and Recording Studio

FReeZA is a Victorian-wide initiative that connects young people with arts, music, and cultural industries by supporting their development of real-life skills. The Frankston based FReeZA committee is called ‘Fresh’. Fresh also operates a recording studio for young musicians and budding audio engineers to access for free.

Mission Australia provides homeless and social housing support, Families and Children’s services, Youth services, Disability inclusion and support, Employment skills/ training as well as Alcohol/ drug/ dependencies support Australia wide.

Mission Australia delivers the ParentsNext program from Ebdale Hub. ParentsNext can assist a parent of a child aged between 6 months and 5 years of age to be ready to re-enter the workforce as your child reaches school age. ParentsNext aims to increase the parent’s independence by having a positive impact on the quality of their family life.

Peninsula Community Wig Centre

The Peninsula Community Wig Centre is a free service for women in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula area who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy treatment. The service is run by dedicated volunteers many of whom are trained hairdressers. There are a variety of wigs and scarves available on loan, with over 1000 wigs being loaned since its opening. A confidential appointment can be arranged with one of the team of volunteers who are trained and very discreet.

St John Ambulance

St John Ambulance is Australia’s leading provider of first aid services, training and equipment. St John Ambulance is about saving lives through First Aid with the aim of having at least one person to be educated, equipped and prepared to provide First Aid in every home, workplace and public gathering.

Adults:
St John volunteers deliver event health and community services, raise funds, attend events and run the St John youth programs. Becoming a volunteer is a rewarding way to meet new people, help the community, and save lives through First Aid and advanced pre-hospital care.

Youth Program (open to 12-17 year olds):

The people on the scene at an emergency before the ambulance arrives play a vital role in saving lives. St John will provide you with important First Aid skills that may help save a life.

RPP FM

RPP FM is a local radio station with a new vibrancy and a focus steeped in community activities, current affairs and culture. It broadcasts on 98.7 FM and 98.3 FM to the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston, the Southern suburbs of Kingston, wider Melbourne including Geelong and the communities of Westernport and Port Phillip Bays. In all it broadcasts to about 350,000+ people. The station’s license is held and administered by Radio Port Phillip Association Incorporated which is a not-for-profit entity.
