Apply for a residential permit to burn

Applications for a Permit to Burn are now open.

You must have a permit to burn from Council before you can burn off within the municipality. 

Applications for a permit to burn opened on 1 May 2024 and will expire on 30 November 2024 or at declaration of the Fire Danger Period whichever is sooner. 

It is your responsibility as the permit holder to check the CFA website each time before you start burning to ensure the fire danger period has not yet been declared.

Please make sure you read the eligibility and permit conditions before you apply. Permit to burn application fees are non-refundable even if your application is rejected.

Please have a Visa or Mastercard credit/debit card ready to pay the registration fee (Amex/Diners cards not accepted online).

Step 3.What happens next?

Successful permit applications are sent to your nominated email address within 21 days. If you do not have an email address or would prefer a physical copy posted out, please call us on 1300 322 322.

We will contact you to arrange a time to inspect your property (if required).

Unsuccessful permit applications can be appealed by emailing the Municipal Fire Prevention Officer at info@frankston.vic.gov.au.
