Foreshore Advisory Committee

The Foreshore Advisory Committee (FAC) is a volunteer committee that advises Council on strategic planning decisions guiding the management of Frankston City’s marine and coastal environment. Its members are actively involved in management of a highly significant area of coastal and Kananook Creek reserves and implementation of Frankston’s Coastal and Marine Management Plan 2024.

What is the Committee's purpose?

Frankston foreshore is renowned as the most pristine and accessible stretch of foreshore on Port Phillip. The purpose of the Committee is to involve diverse representatives of our community in the implementation of the Coastal and Marine Management Plan and the development of other projects along the coast and around the Kananook Creek estuary. The Committee is an opportunity for these representatives to communicate their aspirations and concerns for the marine and coastal environment, including the foreshore and the Kananook Creek estuary.

Members of the Committee do not have decision-making powers but have the opportunity through the Committee process to present their views and opinions for consideration.
