Frankston City Council is committed to providing a safe environment for its residents and visitors. In conjunction with the community we have developed Local Laws that are specifically made to protect public health, safety or amenity.
Our Local Laws cover a number of issues that are important to the community including the Building and Works Code of Practice. This Code of Practice was developed with objectives of:
- providing an environment where activity on and related to building sites and building works complements the safety and amenity of the public and the community;
- protecting public assets and infrastructure during building works; and
- providing for a permit system, including payment of a security deposit.
The whole of the Code is incorporated into and forms part of the Local Law.
The Code is available for inspection at Council’s offices and service centres during business hours.
These laws are made by Council on behalf of the community and address matters that are of concern to our community members. It is important to follow these laws in an effort to provide a safer, fairer community for all.
