Apply for a standard filming and photography permit

If you are conducting commercial filming or photography within a public open space in the Frankston municipality, you may require a permit.

Areas where a permit is required

You will need to apply for a permit if your event will take place on Council owned or managed land within the municipality. This includes, but is not limited to: 

  • parks and reserves
  • foreshore
  • city centre or CAA
  • car parks
  • streets 
  • nature strips.

Note: If your filming includes standard cameras as well as a drone, you only need to apply for a standard filming and photography permit.

Your application must include:  

  • a copy of Public Liability Insurance ($20mil)  
  • plan of your activities.

We will contact you to notify you of the outcome of your application. 

Your application should be submitted no later than 30 days before the scheduled activity to allow time for any follow up questions or requests.
Applications submitted 7 days or sooner to the activity commencing will be subject to a late fee.
