Advocacy priorities
Council-led advocacy to Federal and Victorian Governments is a vital tool for building awareness and support for matters that impact our city and to help secure the essential funding necessary to drive change and deliver on priorities that benefit our community.
Frankston City has seen great success in Federal and Victorian Government investment towards local initiatives, such as Frankston Basketball Stadium redevelopment, Kananook Commuter Car Park, Sandfield Reserve Precinct Revitalisation and many others.
Each election period, Council selects a small number of priority projects that require Council-led advocacy to Government and Opposition in an effort to secure funding contributions. Council works with key stakeholders for each project, such as sporting clubs, in an effort to influence decision-making while engaging with the local community.
The below are local priority projects Council is advocating for in the 2025 federal election.
