After hours operations

Operations

While many of us tucked away in our warm homes at night or sleeping in our comfortable beds in the early hours, Council’s after-hours team is often busy at work, helping to keep Frankston City clean and safe for us. And they’re often doing things that require a strong stomach and mind.

The team of men and women take on a range of roles between 4pm and 8:30am weekdays, and 24 hours on weekends - and no day or night is the same. They may be called out to help support police, ambulance, and the fire services at car accident scenes. Or they might need to go to unblock drains in extreme weather conditions. And they are often called to clean up all sorts of waste that’s been inappropriately disposed of in open spaces like playgrounds and reserves where our kids play.

For the most part many of us don’t realise they’re out doing what they do – but we certainly notice if they weren’t around.
