Frankston City has once again been recognised as a top tourism destination, winning Bronze in the 2023 Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards for the second consecutive year.
The award acknowledges the City’s unique blend of city, bush, and bay, as well as the exceptional lifestyle experience it offers to both locals and visitors.
Mayor Nathan Conroy expressed his delight, stating: “Winning Bronze is a fantastic achievement and speaks volumes about our wonderful City. It demonstrates the direction we’re heading with our impressive street art, stunning attractions and our progressive approach to revitalising Frankston as a major destination.”
Mayor Conroy emphasised that Frankston City is rapidly welcoming businesses and families, as well as visitors, adding: “There is a new energy in the City.”
“We’re seeing this in the crafters and innovators that are setting up shop and bringing life to the street. It’s not just businesses, but also families who are flocking to this bayside destination to enjoy the best of all worlds.”
Frankston City won Bronze in the Top Town category (population of 5,000 or more), with Ballarat receiving Gold and Bendigo taking home the Silver. There were 17 contenders across three categories for the awards, including Aireys Inlet, Echuca, Heathcote, Jamieson, Koroit, Lakes Entrance, Mildura, Murchison, Noojee, Red Hill South, Sorrento, Warrnambool, Werribee and Woodend.
The public played a significant role in securing Frankston’s win, as the Bronze was awarded through public voting.
Mayor Conroy expressed gratitude to both residents and visitors. “Frankston holds a special place in the hearts of both residents and visitors. We are so humbled that so many people chose to vote for Frankston to support the work we are doing to keep the city progressing into the future.”
