Applications are now open for Frankston City Council’s 2025-26 Destination Event Attraction Program (DEAP), providing an exciting opportunity for event organisers to secure funding for their upcoming events.

Frankston’s close proximity to Melbourne, along with its diverse cultural and natural assets, make it a prime destination for hosting destination events.

DEAP offers financial and in-kind support to organisations to deliver high-quality festivals and events that provide remarkable visitor experiences, local engagement and build upon the City’s positioning as a creative destination.

The current season has supported four events, including End of the Line Frankston, The Carlsberg Beach Club, the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, and the sophomore year of the Frankston Swim Classic – as part of Waterfront Festival. These events are expected to inject $3.1 million into the local economy.

Wilton Ward Councillor David Asker said: “The Destination Event Attraction Program is more than just supporting great events—it’s about driving economic growth, creating jobs, and ensuring that the benefits of tourism are felt throughout our local economy."

“Frankston’s diverse cultural and natural assets, combined with strategic event support, allow us to continue driving economic prosperity through tourism and local partnerships.”

The program supports events across three tiers, from significant commercial events to major community events. It seeks applications from event organisers that can deliver creative events which will showcase the City's lifestyle and cultural assets, embrace and build upon the City's creative arts culture, and drive economic and branding benefits to the local economy.

Stage One applications for the 2025/26 round of the DEAP close Sunday 16 March 2025. For more information visit Destination Event Attraction Program - Frankston City Council.
