A digital business event not to be missed!

Published on 19 June 2020

Two of business’ biggest names are visiting Frankston for an exclusive Facebook live chat.

Invest Frankston and Frankston City Council are proud to present Business Leaders Live - with Bernard Salt and Danni Hunter on Thursday 25 June at 8pm.

Salt is one of Australia’s leading commentators, respected by businesses, the media and the broader community and is one of the most sought-after speakers in the business sector.

Hunter is the Victorian Chief Executive Officer of the Urban Development Institute of Australia which is the nation’s key representative body for the urban development industry.

The pair will indulge in the live one-on-one from Monash University Peninsula Campus in Frankston and plan to delve into a motivational, entertaining, inspiring and completely unrehearsed talk which will be aired live on Invest Frankston’s Facebook page.

Salt said he was keen to talk about a number of areas such as why businesses should have faith in Australia going forward.

“Australia is regarded as a safe haven after the pandemic; business, visitors, students, will want to visit, move to, engage with “safe” Australia in the 2020s”, Salt said.

“Australians will be more inclined to work from home or to work near home in regional hubs like, say, Frankston!  The next generation of tech-savvy workers will not commute en masse for the whole of their working lives; local centres will become more important.”

Salt is keen to interact with those watching and find out how their homes and local orientations are changing too.

Frankston City Mayor Sandra Mayer said she was thrilled Salt and Hunter were coming to Frankston to film the live event.

“It’s such a perfect event for Frankston City to host because it complements Council’s extensive range of business support programs, including those introduced as part of its $6.434 million relief and recovery package,” the Mayor said.

Salt is currently writing two weekly columns for The Australian newspaper and is an adjunct professor at Curtin University Business School.

He also holds a Master of Arts degree from Monash University and was responsible for popularising smashed avocados globally.

He has six best-selling books and was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the 2017 Australia Day honours.

Hunter is an accomplished and reputable property expert, with an impressive track record in advocacy, policy, political engagement and stakeholder management, with previous roles as Senior Advisor to the State Government, and Policy Advisor and Public Affairs Manager at the Property Council of Australia.

“I am really excited to be a part of this event,” Hunter said.

“We are going to explore topics such as how COVID-19 has changed our world, our priorities and the business environment, what is the outlook for FY21, how will higher unemployment impact consumer sentiment and behaviour and much more.”
