Frankston Arts Centre spreads joy with Christmas Variety Special

Published on 17 December 2020

Frankston Arts Centre has hosted its first ticketed show post COVID with patrons enjoying a fun filled and uplifting Christmas Variety Special.

Frankston City Manager Arts and Culture Andrew Moon said the December 10 show was the FAC’s first paying audience since 15 March.

“The event was an uplifting musical performance featuring star Australian music theatre performer Michael Cormick and talented tenor Roy Best, along with the stunning Michelle Fitzmaurice and compere Chris McKenna.

The event was also filmed for people at home and will be released on the Frankston Arts Centre Facebook and YouTube at 10.30am on Friday 18 December. It will be available for a limited time over the festive season,” Mr Moon said.

The Christmas Variety Special follows an invitation only show on 28 November for Spirit Lines where all the FAC’s COVID-safe practices were tested and refined.

Frankston Arts Centre patron, Christine Robertson, said she was thrilled to attend the Christmas Variety Special.

“It was a fantastic performance and I thank the performers – after eight years of attending shows, I feel like they’ve become family.

“I wish all at the Frankston Arts Centre the happiest of Christmases because you have made us all so happy,” Ms Robertson said.

There are many shows scheduled for 2021, however, most will not open for ticket sales until six weeks prior to ensure that the venue complies with the latest capacity restrictions.

Patrons are encouraged to join a waiting list for particular events on the FAC website to be the first to know about ticket sales.
