Frankston City Council Customer Service Centre closures

Published on 24 July 2020

Frankston City Council customer service centres in Frankston, Langwarrin and Seaford will be closed to the public from Monday 27 July, in the interests of protecting the health of the community and staff.

The customer service centres will remain closed until COVID-19 stage three restrictions are lifted.

Frankston City Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said processes were in place to ensure the public could reach Council during the closure and staff would continue to prioritise customer service.

“Council is committed to keeping everyone safe and lessening the number of places people have face-to-face contact will decrease opportunities for this virus to spread and impact our community further.

“Members of our community will still be able to contact Council by phone, email, social media, the Snap Send Solve app and the live chat service on our website,” Cr Mayer said.

The Mayor added that Council was very appreciative of the community’s continued understanding as services were adapted during the pandemic.

“We know that this change will inconvenience some residents but we take our responsibility for protecting the health of our staff and residents very seriously.

“In rare cases when face-to-face transactions are necessary, customer service staff will make appointments for residents to meet with officers in relevant departments, in a safe way.”

The Mayor encouraged residents and businesses to contact Council with any questions or concerns.

“We understand that this is a challenging and stressful time and will continue to support your recovery and meet your day-to-day needs in every way possible.”

Frankston City Council’s decision to close its service centres aligns with action taken by a number of local councils, including Mornington Peninsula Shire, City of Casey and Kingston City Council.
