Frankston City Library branches to reopen on Monday 22 June

Visitors will be welcomed back to Frankston City Libraries on Monday, with branches in Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford reopening with restrictions in place.

Library goers will be able to browse the collection, borrow, collect reservations, use public computers (booking recommended from 9am Monday), print, scan and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi.

The following measures have been taken to protect staff and the public from the spread of COVID-19:

  • Each guest will be permitted to visit the library for 30 minutes
  • The number of people allowed in each branch will be limited
  • Opening hours will be reduced
  • Guests will be asked to use hand sanitiser upon entry and to provide contact details for contact tracing

Frankston City Council Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said she shared the community’s excitement that the libraries were reopening.

“Our friendly library staff will be on-hand to assist you and I know they have missed you as much as you have missed them.

“We ask that you please respect each other and our staff, remain patient and adhere to the guidelines so that we can all enjoy the library spaces again.”

The Mayor added that visitors may experience a wait to access branches and thanked everyone for their patience as the library worked towards fully reinstating services.

Library events and programs will remain online for now, including the popular FrankTALKS and Storytime Live on Facebook each Tuesday and Thursday at 11am.

Frankston Library
Monday─Friday: 10am─4pm
Saturday: 11am─3pm
Sunday: 11am─3pm

Carrum Downs Library
Monday─Friday: 10am─4pm
Saturday: 11am─3pm
Sunday: 12─3pm

Seaford Library
Monday─Friday: 10am─4pm
Saturday: 9am─12pm
Sunday: Closed
