Keep local food on the menu by joining the Frankston Food Move

Coronavirus means less locals and visitors are eating out but you can help the city’s food businesses get through this tough time.

Sign up to the Invest Frankston #theFrankstonFoodMove and pledge to order at least a meal a fortnight from one of the city’s amazing restaurants, cafes or bars.

Andrea Papapostolou from Vero Pasta and Wine in Frankston said it was essential people came out to support their favourite hospitality businesses.

“It doesn’t matter how good your business was, how it traded previously or how popular you were, no business can survive without an income for potentially three months,” Andrea said.

“I’m trying desperately to keep my staff on, I feel terrible having to cut shifts; this is their livelihood as much as mine.”

Andrea said the Frankston Food Move was a great initiative which would help local businesses keeps their doors open.

“I encourage the community to jump on board and sign the pledge. Call your favourite restaurant and pick up your own meal to ensure the restaurant gets 100 per cent of the profits.”

This sentiment was shared by Adriano Gonzalez from Spanish Bar in Seaford.

“It will be great to have the support of the community through this campaign,” Adriano said.

“We appreciate Council being proactive, as it’s tough for everyone and we need to be strong as a community.”
