Impact Volunteering joins Frankston City Council

The valuable work of Impact Volunteering will continue under the management of Frankston City Council.
Council began managing the service on July 1 and Frankston City Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said staff were committed to building on Impact’s great contributions to the community.
“Impact Volunteering is a valuable asset to our City and we are keen to see it continuing successfully into the future.
“We are always working to strengthen our community and our incredible volunteers play a pivotal role in that.
“That is why it is so important to ensure this vital service remains available,” the Mayor said.
Impact Volunteering started in 2009 as the Frankston Volunteer Resource Centre.
The organisation established a referral desk at Frankston Library to support people to start volunteering.
Over the years, Impact Volunteering evolved to promote volunteering and support organisations via a range of projects, activities and events. This included the creation and management of the annual Volunteer Expo and Volunteer of the Year Awards.
COVID-19 has impacted organisations across Frankston City, including Impact Volunteering, with services being carried out in a limited capacity remotely.
Organisations seeking support in adapting or creating new volunteer roles and individuals interested in helping the community are encouraged to visit the Impact Volunteering page.
