Statement from Frankston City Mayor, Kris Bolam
Published on 26 November 2020
“Our community was deeply saddened yesterday evening, to hear that a local man had lost his life following an incident in Seaford.
On behalf of Council, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family. As a Council and a community, our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.
We are dedicated to continuing our work in partnership with agencies including Public Transport Victoria and Victoria Police, to address the anti-social behaviour which has been taking place at our coastal suburbs since the lifting of travel restrictions and onset of warmer weather.
The safety of those who live in, and visit, these residential areas is our priority, which is why we have increased beach patrols on hot days, are supporting Victoria Police’s Operation Summer Safe and have installed 31 additional CCTV cameras across the City, including in the Seaford area.
We understand there is more to be done and will continue to introduce further safety measures in collaboration with the police and the community.
If you witness anti-social behaviour in any form, please call 000.”
