Let’s chat over an Aussie favourite.

Frankston City Council Mayor Kris Bolam will join Senator for Victoria, David Van, the Federal Member for Dunkley, Peta Murphy, and the State Member for Frankston, Paul Edbrooke MP, at a Bunnings barbecue this month.

Mayor Bolam said Council is hosting the barbecue to bring together all three levels of government in one place where the community can ask questions and provide their feedback directly to their elected representatives.

“The event shows how all three levels of government are able to work constructively together in the interests of the Frankston City community.

“You can come and have a chat with your local elected representatives from Council, State Government and Federal Government over the famous Bunnings sausage sizzle,” Mayor Bolam said.

The Mayor added that all proceeds raised from the sausage sizzle will be donated to key charity Community Support Frankston (CSF), who do tremendous work in supporting the most vulnerable within our community.

Volunteers from Council and CSF will be cooking and serving on the day.

Mayor Bolam said: “Council is committed to working with all levels of government regardless of political affiliation and key stakeholders (such as community groups and industry experts) in order to build awareness and secure support for matters that impact our city and to help secure the essential funding necessary to drive change and deliver on priorities that benefit our community.”

The Mayor is not a member of or affiliated with any political party.

Senator Van said: “As your voice in the Federal Government, I can help you get the results you need. I look forward to chatting with members of the community over an Aussie favourite.”

Ms Murphy said: “As your representative in the Australian parliament, I’m always keen to hear your views about our local community and the nation.

“I’m also here to help whenever you or your family encounter problems with any government service. As a convenient way for you to raise issues or get assistance, I regularly attend local community places and shopping centres throughout the Dunkley electorate,” Ms Murphy said.

Mr Edbrooke said: “It is fantastic to see all levels of government available for the community at one venue. We all know that working together is what gets things done.”

Meet the Mayor and politicians at the barbecue at Bunnings Frankston, corner McMahons Road and Gertrude Street, Frankston, on Saturday 26 June from 10am to 12 noon. The barbecue will run from 9am to 4pm.
