Celebrate Frankston at the Live and Local Event Series

Events are back on in Frankston City with next month’s new Live and Local Event Series celebrating live music, street art, markets, great food and entertainment.
Proudly supported by Frankston City Council, the Live and Local Event Series will be held over on the weekend of 20 – 21 March at four key locations.
North-East Ward Cr David Asker said the due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the Live and Local Event Series will replace The Waterfront Festival, and will be delivered in line with current public event restrictions.
“Put some comfortable shoes on and get ready to explore our wonderful City as we take you on a travelling journey through different sites across the weekend.
“There will be something for everyone – captivating live music, vibrant street art, markets with great bargains, mouth-watering food and a range of entertainment,” Cr Asker said.
Cr Asker added: “Following a difficult 2020 which saw lockdowns and cancelled events, residents well and truly deserve the opportunity to get out and about and celebrate Frankston.
“Our number one priority is providing a safe, healthy and fun event for locals, visitors, stallholders and performers.
“We’re committed to increased cleaning at all sites. There will also be QR code entry for all people and monitoring of numbers at each site to enable the events are delivered in line with COVID safe practices.
“It’s essential that all patrons safely interact with local businesses, food and market stalls and other festival-goers and we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure this occurs,” Cr Asker said.

Live and Local at the Foreshore
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March, 2pm – 8pm daily
Location: Long Island Dve and McCombs Reserve, Frankston
Wander from stall to stall through the market, ignite your taste buds as you enjoy tasty treats from food vendors or have fun with twists and turns on the family rides and amusements across the creek. There will be great live music on the stage with Bo’ness, Riley Catherall and Greta Ziller not to be missed. Stick around to watch the beautiful sunset each day before continuing to enjoy the mesmerising atmosphere and flavours of the event.
Live and Local at Seaford
Saturday 20 March, 10am – 8pm
Location: Broughton Reserve, Broughton St, Seaford
The stage will host special Storytimes with Frankston City Libraries’ favourites you know and love. Grab your physically distanced spot on the lawn for a front row seat to enjoy stage performances including Iaki Vallejo and Frankston City's own The Lorenz Band Duo.
Live and Local at Youth Central
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March, 10am – 8pm daily
Location: Youth Central forecourt, 60 Playne St, Frankston
Kick back and enjoy amazing performers from the FReeZA program and beyond. Don’t miss Ed Moon and Matilda Pearl on Saturday and Sunday evening respectively as they perform. Tap into your artistic side and learn basic street art design and application with a professional street artist at the Youth Street Art Workshop.
Live and Local at Wells St
Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 March 2021, 11.30am – 8pm daily
Location: Cinema forecourt, Wells St, Frankston
Relaxed and unwind with chilled music and entertainment as performers, including Sherry Lee and Velvet Bloom, take to the streets. Enjoy food at one of the many restaurants as you enjoy the vibe of local singers, musicians and performers before you check out the surrounding street art as part of The Big Picture Fest or if shopping is more your style check out the many offerings along Wells St and surrounds.
