They’re the Frankston City Council staff who keep on giving with no signs of slowing down.
Council has honoured and recognised 60 of its longest serving employees with Awards acknowledging stellar service from 10 to 35 years.
Council CEO, Phil Cantillon, said the dedicated employees represented the best of Frankston City, adding: “These exemplary staff members are part of a special group who have dedicated most, if not all, of their careers to Frankston City.
“While it’s becoming less common to see employees stay for 10 years – at Council, we are bucking that trend,” Mr Cantillon said.=
Mr Cantillon commended the employees for their commitment to the community, which amounts to over 1000 years of service.
“At Frankston City, we strive to create a workplace culture for our employees to pave out their careers while making a difference to the community. We were proud to see this aspiration being realised.
“Frankston City is not only a place for developing your careers; it’s a place for our staff to feel welcome, encouraged, and a place for us all to learn, develop, build relationships and memories and progress through different stages of our lives.
“It’s an honour that this group has chosen Frankston City as the place to make this contribution of a lifetime,” Mr Cantillon said.
Council Manager People and Culture, Fran Boyd, said: “Of the employees recognised, seven have been with Frankston City for 25 to 35 years. We’re proud to have long serving staff represented in a wide range of Council operations and services including Arts and Culture (Libraries), Financial and Corporate Planning, Operations, Business Improvement and Events.”
Council Team Leader Libraries, Martina Rasmussen, was honoured for her 25 years’ service.
Ms Rasmussen has witnessed many changes over the years, particularly regarding both how libraries are perceived by the community and the services provided.
“I love learning and serving the community. My aim is for every customer to leave the library in a happier state than when they came in,” Ms Rasmussen said.
