Budding small business operators can learn to start, manage and grow their business thanks to Invest Frankston’s Business Basic Workshops 2021.

North East Ward Cr David Asker said the workshops are open to Frankston City residents and hosted by industry experts.

Cr Asker said: “Participants can gain fundamental skills about getting started, creating a business plan, finance management, marketing, branding, website design, social media and more.

“Sessions will be held both in person (pending COVID-19 restrictions) and virtual via Zoom and will provide participants with valuable resources, Council contacts and the opportunity to network with others. Participants have the flexibility to join one or more of the sessions and there is a small discount to join all six sessions,” Cr Asker said.

The low cost workshops start on August 17 and cover ‘Getting Started’, ‘Business Mapping’, ‘Finances and Cash Flow’, ‘Website and Branding’, ‘Digital Marketing and e Commerce’ and ‘Resources and Networking’.

Kristy Jones, who previously attended Invest Frankston’s Mumpreneur Workshops – which are similar to the Business Basics Workshops – said the support and information was invaluable.

“What I’ve learnt from the Mumpreneur training was invaluable. I really can’t thank Council enough. The networking day was a great way to finish off. I’ve come out of these six weeks knowing that I can move forward and not be scared to progress,” Ms Jones said.

Cr Asker said Frankston City Council’s Invest Frankston campaign is attracting business and investment to the municipality, adding: “The campaign is reaping rewards, with Council currently facilitating over 100 business and investment enquiries through both the Business Concierge and Investment Attraction specialist services.”
