Join the Mayor’s Reading Challenge: Read 60 books in 31 days
Can you read 60 books in a month?
The 2022 Mayor’s Reading Challenge calls on early readers, aged 0-5 years, to read their way through wintry August.
Prizes will be offered as children reach reading milestones, and each child who reads 60 books receives a free book and goes into a draw to win vouchers.
At the 1 August launch, Mayor Nathan Conroy will read a story. Other activities at Frankston Library (60 Playne Street) include:
10.30am Tiny Tots session for 0-2- year-olds
11am Face painting by the fairy-fabulous Faery Emma
11.30am Story time Superstar Kerry will host a session for children aged 3-5 years with plenty of reading and singing.
In its 12th year, the Mayor’s Reading Challenge supports early literacy and fosters a love of books. It encourages parents and carers to enjoy reading experiences with their children in a fun and rewarding way.
You can collect a reading record and stickers to take part in the challenge at Frankston, Seaford or Carrum Downs libraries.
