Fun and recreation are the main game at the new play space and whole of park redevelopment at Lady Emily Reserve, Skye.
Frankston City Council Mayor Nathan Conroy said the upgraded Reserve includes new play space featuring activities for all ages including a basket swing, tree house unit, swings, learn-to-ride track and nature play.
“There’s also new shade sails, basketball, picnic tables, seats, bins, drinking fountain and shelter, over 100 new park trees and garden beds, new park fencing and extensive new pathways,” the Mayor said.
Deputy Mayor Suzette Tayler said: “A whole-of-park approach was taken to consider the community’s requests such as basketball, park fencing, improved accessibility and catering for all ages play.
“Lady Emily Reserve is a local-classification play space, primarily serving the immediate residential area. It is not a larger District or Regional play space such as Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve or Ballam Park and therefore does not have the same level of facilities.
“The play equipment at Lady Emily Reserve reached its end of life, so we have invested in new equipment and improvements to meet community expectations and Council’s Play Strategy recommendations,” the Deputy Mayor said.
The upgrade at Lady Emily Reserve was completed thanks to a $400,000 investment from Council.
