Frankston City is turning it up a notch as a tourism drawcard with another fantastic showing as a finalist in the Top Tourism Town Awards for 2022.
Mayor Nathan Conroy said: “It’s time to show the love and #Vote1Frankston in the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards. Frankston has the honour of being recognised – along with 18 other towns – as a finalist in the Top Town category (population of 5,000 or more).
“Frankston is on the march – earlier this year we were awarded gold in the 2021 Australian Street Art Awards for Best Street Art Tour and Frankston City was deservedly recognised as a finalist in the Top Tourism Town Awards for 2021. Now is the time to go one better in 2022 and win!
“The winner is selected via a public vote – we are inviting our community, valued visitors, those who work here and everyone who loves Frankston, to share the love, get behind us and vote for Frankston to become the 2022 Victorian Top Tourism Town,” the Mayor said.
Mayor Conroy added: “Being named again as a finalist in the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards is a phenomenal achievement and speaks volumes not only about our wonderful City, but more importantly the direction we’re heading with our street art and other stunning attractions.
“More people are catching on that Frankston is becoming its own destination drawcard. The City has come a long way in the last 10 years. We’re seeing this in the crafters and innovators that are coming to Frankston City and starting new businesses.
“There is a new energy in the City and it’s not only attracting more businesses and investment, but more families are now calling Frankston home. It’s not only a great place to visit, but to live as well,” Mayor Conroy said.
Deputy Mayor Suzette Tayler said Frankston City Council is dedicated to developing Frankston as a significant visitor destination within the Victorian tourism landscape.
“There’s no other place quite like Frankston, which features an enviable and beautiful blend of city, bush and bay. As a destination we work really hard to exceed visitors’ expectations and to deliver the unexpected,” Cr Tayler said.
The Top Tourism Town Awards are hosted by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council. Voting is now open and closes on at 9am on 31 May.
