The Waterfront Festival, Frankston City’s biggest summer extravaganza

Set on Frankston City’s iconic waterfront, the festival delivers the best live music, delicious food and drink for every member of the family, a great range of market stalls, cultural and waterfront activities, rides and amusements galore, including free activities and entertainment for the kids... and, of course, the always celebrated fireworks display on Saturday night.
The huge celebration kick-starts the City’s annual event calendar with two jam-packed days of entertainment.
Below are some of the highlights:
- Music galore: Never before has there been such an incredible line-up of artists at the Waterfront Festival. Enjoy rock legends YOU AM I (8.45pm Saturday), The Casanova’s (7.40pm Saturday), Thndo (6.45pm Sunday), Melbourne Ska Orchestra (3.20pm Saturday), The Merindas (6.40pm Saturday), Kylie Auldist (5.45pm Sunday) plus so many more. Apart from the big names, don’t forget to check out the Emerging Artists and Ventana live music stages.
- Great food: Excite your tastebuds with more than 30 vendors offering flavours from across the world at three festival zones – Food Truck Square, the Activity Zone and Ventana food court.
- Beverages: Feeling parched? We’ve got you covered with premium-produced drinks showcasing the best the region has to offer.
- Markets: Stalls feature a variety of products, including many locally made, by more than 40 creators.
- Activities: Enjoy circus play, bubbles, magic, a fire show and so much more at the Dreaming Space, while at the Ventana Precinct you’ll find more entertainment with everything from Mexican Wrestling, workshops more unique markets a colourful selection of delicious food.
- Beach and Beyond: What would a waterfront festival be without some water play? Activities by the waterside run from 12pm to 6pm and include sailing offered by the Frankston Yacht Club, Beach Auskick and other beach sports.
- Ventana 2023: Two festivals meet as a celebration of Latin, Mediterranean and Filipino culture is offered at the Waterfront as part of the Ventana Festival which runs through to March.
- As every year, there will be a number of rides for daredevils and thrillseekers.
