Frankston City Council has received the resignation of Councillor Steven Hughes.

Cr Hughes was elected to represent the North-West Ward in October 2020.

Frankston City Council acknowledges Cr Hughes’ time at Council and wishes him all the best for his future endeavours.

Council will today notify the Minister for Local Government and the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) of the resignation.

The VEC will commence the process to fill the vacancy through a countback of the formal ballot papers cast at the last general election in October 2020.

We will await advice from the VEC regarding the timing of the countback.
