If a vehicle exceeds these measurements it can only be parked on a road in a built-up area for a maximum of one hour unless parking signs say that it is allowed or the driver is actively picking up or setting down goods.
Heavy vehicles may include:
- trucks
- caravans
- campers
- boats
- trailers.
Your vehicle can be parked on the road if:
- it is registered
- under 7.5 metres in length
- weighs less than 4.5 tonnes.
Under Community Local Law 2020, 2.20 Storage of Vehicles(PDF, 1MB), registered caravans, boats and trailers can only stay on the road for 7 days.
