Apply to occupy a caravan on private property

You must apply for a permit to occupy a caravan that is not in a registered caravan park or camping area.

Learn more about local laws which may apply if you intend to use the caravan as a rental property.

Step 1.Prepare your application

You must include the following supporting documents with your application: 

  • Certificate of Currency (Public Liability Insurance). Cover must be current for the date/s requested to conduct the activity
  • Site Plan 1:100 outlining the following:
    • proposed location of the item (clearly showing the location of the caravan on the property)
    • the location of any dwellings
    • the location of the property boundary
  • Copy of valid building permit (if building or construction is scheduled or in progress on the proposed property)
  • Copy of letter of consent from the property owner (if the proposed property is occupied by a tenant and not the property owner)

Applications received without the required documentation will not be processed.

Step 3.Submit your application

Send your completed form and supporting documents to:

Step 4.What happens next?

We will contact you within 10 business days to collect payment and notify you of the outcome of your application.
