Transfer of pet ownership

Keeping your pet's registration details up-to-date helps us reunite you quickly should it become lost.

We do not currently have pet registration transfer agreements with other councils. If you're bringing your pet from another council, you must create a new registration. (Please note: if your pet has lived here before, we may be able to reinstate the original registration. Please call us on 1300 322 322 to discuss.)

If you have just purchased or adopted your pet, please create a new registration.

If your pet is leaving our municipality, then please notify us. You can call 1300 322 322 or complete the online form here.

Both the current and new owners must complete and sign the Application to Transfer Dog/Cat Ownership(PDF, 314KB).
