Households can change to a smaller or larger general waste (red lid) bin depending on the size they currently have.
We have two general waste bin sizes available. The size you currently have at your property is shown on your annual rates notice and indicated by the serial number on the bins side. As a general rule, the serial numbers will begin with a B or an S.
- If the serial number starts with a B, you have a 120 litre bin.
- If the serial number starts with an S, you have an 80 litre bin.
Please note, the above bin sizes are smaller than the 240 litre mixed recycling (yellow lid) and food and garden (green lid) waste bin. Frankston City Council do not offer a 240 litre waste bin.
Before you request a larger garbage bin, please consider how you could reduce your waste through recycling, composting, or ordering a food and garden waste bin. Residents find they do not need to increase the size of their general waste bin if they divert their food waste to their food and garden waste bin (green lid).
