Evelyn Street Open Space
The Open Spaces, Urban Design, Horticulture and Maintenance teams worked together to transform Evelyn Street open space into an exciting, safe and environmentally friendly community space for all Frankston City residents and its visitors to enjoy.
The park now includes:
- An amphitheatre and elevated performance space.
- A rainforest garden incorporating water-sensitive urban design principles.
- Planted arbours.
- Footpath connections to Nepean Highway and Fletcher Road.
- Seating and new public lighting.
- Informal play and grassed recreation areas.
- Barbecues, a drinking fountain, bike hoops, with feature public art installation to be installed at the corner of Fletcher Road and Nepean Highway in the coming months.
The project was completed in August, 2022. It had a total project budget was $1.5 million with $1.3 million provided by the Victorian State Government.
