Frankston City continues to cement its position as a regional hub for sports with the redevelopment of the athletics pavilion at Ballam Park. 

The upgrade included:  

  • Two fit-for-purpose change rooms and amenities
  • Accessible toilets
  • Storage and first aid rooms
  • Bigger social and gym areas
  • Additional meeting /officials' rooms
  • Kitchen flooring upgrade
  • Expanded roof solar PV system
  • External upgrade including pathways & landscaping 

This is stage two of the $3.8 million Ballam Park Athletics Redevelopment. Stage one – the track upgrade – was completed in late 2023, bringing the facility back up to World Athletics Standards and making it a suitable competition venue for senior athletes. 

Thousands of athletes of all ages and levels use Ballam Park’s athletics facilities each year, from Frankston Little Athletics Centre to Frankston and Peninsula Masters, and local schools and the

upgraded facilities are expected to attract even more athletes and events, providing further benefits for the broader Frankston City community, including local businesses and service providers. 

The Ballam Park Athletics Redevelopment Project was funded by Council in partnership with the State Government.
